The Easter holidays have hopped up on us quick!

Spring has definitely sprung and it's finally time for some Easter fun. We've come up with some egg-cellent family days out in the North East for you to get eggs-ploring! (Sorry we had to!)

1. Visit Ouseburn Farm to meet lambs and chicks!

If Easter isn’t the perfect time for a trip to the farm, when is? Ouseburn Farm is located right in the heart of Newcastle City centre and is a short walk from Manors metro, making it an easy to reach day out. The farmyard is buzzing with new life this Spring, including adorable newborn lambs and chicks that you can meet! You can even feed the lambs! It's the perfect spot for a cute family day out!

2. Visit Jesmond Dene and then enjoy our Easter special burger!

There’s nothing like a great family walk in the park and we've got to recommend a stroll in Jesmond Dene. Located in the heart of Jesmond, just on the outskirts of Newcastle, it's easy to reach and has plenty of grassy areas, playparks and even a Pets Corner! If you’re a real animal fan, you can drop into Pets Corner on Sunday 7th April between 1pm - 3pm to handle some of the animals!

After an afternoon in the Dene, everyone's going to be a hungry, so why not drop in to visit the original Fat Hippo?

Just a few minutes walk from the Dene is our original restaurant, Fat Hippo Jesmond. This Easter we have two eggs-tra special Specials for you! ‘The Blazin' Cod’ burger and our egg-cellent Easter dessert, the ‘Chick ’n’ Mix Waffle Cone’.

We've given you awesome beef and chicken burgers over the years so it was time to create one for the pescatarians out there! The ‘Blazin' Cod’ is a crisp, fried hot Piri Piri fish, covered in gooey double American cheese, dressed with ranch slaw and gherkins, served with spicy Cajun cross cuts on the side.

Want a chocolatey overload this easter? Then get our ‘Chick ’n’ Mix’ Waffle Cone! Grab a spoon and dig in to our chocolate and vanilla ice cream waffle cone, drizzled in salted caramel with added smashed chocolate eggs, and you’ve literally completed Easter!

Make sure to book a table to guarantee your Easter feast! Grab them quick as they're only available from the 18th - 22nd April.
