Morpeth Food Festival

Plans are underway for the fifth annual Morpeth Food and Drink Festival – and organisers of the ever popular annual event have announced this year it will run over two days.

The festival will take place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of October with more than 100 stall in locations across the town over the two days.

The town centre will host a fantastic line up of local produce from jams and chutneys to sausages and cheese as well as local beer wine and gins. The October Farmer’s Market will also be part of the event.

There will be a free park and ride service over the weekend with musical entertainment across the town centre as well as the popular demo kitchen in the Market Place – showcasing the skills of the area’s talented local chefs.

The festival will have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan foods as well as the popular and hotly contested pie, jam and scone competitions. There will also be children’s activities including story telling, face painting and a pets corner.

The town’s pubs and restaurants will be organising events and entertainment and offering special food festival deals over the weekend as will guest houses in the area.

This is the fifth year that the team at The Arcade has worked in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Northumberland County Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth Market working group to deliver the annual event.
