We know sometimes burgers raise some beefy questions! Here are some of your most FAQs to get you started!
Get your hands round our juicy burgers in our restaurants located in Newcastle, Jesmond, Durham, Nottingham and in our two concessions in Sheffield. You can find out more about our Fat Hippo locations here.
Our concessions are smaller and often within another venue. Fat Hippo S1 is a concession within Lane7's building - the address is Unit 5 Maltida St., The Moor, S1 4PF. We also have Fat Hippo S3 which is a concession within Kommune, Castle House, Angel St, S3 8LS.
At our restaurants (Jesmond, Newcastle and Durham), reservations are welcome and you can easily book your table online here. We recommend booking if you would like to join us at a specific time to avoid any disappointment. If not, you’re more than welcome to just walk in and we’ll get you seated ASAP.
At our concessions (Sheffield S1 and S3) reservations are ran by the main venue themselves. For Sheffield S3 you can make a reservation with Kommune online here. For Sheffield S1 you would need to get in touch with Lane 7 Sheffield directly either via Facebook or calling 0114 349 8118 or emailing email@example.com. Both Sheffield sites do also take walk in custom so please pop in and see us.

We want to make sure your Fat Hippo experience is as best and as safe as it can be. To help keep you as safe as possible, we are currently set up at a reduced capacity alongside other extra measures to help protect everyone involved in your burger journey whilst comfortably complying with all current regulations. Occasionally during busy times, we don’t show up on Deliveroo for a short period of time. This could be down to us needing to pause our tablet for our kitchens to catch up, to prioritise dine in and Click+Collect orders or Deliveroo may be running short of riders in your area.
To guarantee burgers at busy times, please use our Click+Collect pre-order service.
If that is not possible, our best advice is to sit tight and try again in 10 minutes and we’ll be back as soon as possible.
You can order a Fat Hippo feast to Click+Collect up to a week in advance.
Choose the restaurant you’d like to collect from, select the time you’d like collect at (If you select ASAP that will revert to our next available slot which may be in a few hours so please double check!) Bag your favourite burger, treat yourself to that extra side, double check the time and pay. Once orders have been placed they are final and unable to be amended or have the time slot changed. On the day, arrive bang on time with your name/code ready, and the burger goods will be ready.
We are accepting walk ups at the moment at our restaurants only. However, we are only able to take card payments. Alternatively, please use our Click+Collect service to pre-book your collection slot and pre-pay for your order.
It goes without saying everyone is welcome here at Fat Hippo. Meat-eaters, vegetarians, vegans and those with food intolerances. We want you to be able to enjoy our food in the way that suits you.

Our meat is not certified halal in our Newcastle, Durham and Jesmond restaurants.
The chicken is certified halal in our Sheffield concessions and our Nottingham restaurant.
For our Headingley restaurant, coming Feb 2021, it's something we'll be looking into with local suppliers!
Thank you for your support and we're thrilled you'd like to get a gift card from us! You can buy your Gift Card online here. You can also add them onto your Click + Collect order or purchase them through walk ups at our restaurants.
Please note that Gift cards are only redeemable for dine in Fat Hippo resturants and cannot be used in concessions.

Yes! All of our family friendly restaurants and concessions have baby changing facilities available for guests.
Parking availability varies across each of our restaurants and concessions. Although none of our sites have a dedicated private car park, most have on-street parking and all have access to nearby public car parks. Please see the list below for further information.
Due to this ‘new normal’ we’re currently in the process of updating and changing up a few systems. As our loyalty and collection systems are running independently of one another, we are currently unable to add your points in the usual way we do. That said, if you email our Herd team a copy of your Click+Collect or dine in receipt, we will be able to add these manually for you. Hope this helps!
