Fat Hippo Nottingham is based on Broad Street in Hockley, in the heart of the Creative Quarter within Nottingham city centre. The area is home to graffiti street art, music venues and other independent businesses and is only a five minutes’ walk from the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham.
The nearest tram stop to Fat Hippo Nottingham is Lace Market which is only a two minutes’ walk to the restaurant.
We are only a short walk from any of Nottingham’s major city centre car parks, i.e. Stoney Street or Lace Market.
We do accept walk ins at Fat Hippo Nottingham but we recommend booking a table if you’d like to join us at specific time to avoid any disappointment, especially when the restaurant is busy.
Yes, Fat Hippo Nottingham is a child friendly restaurant! It’s the ideal pit stop after a day of shopping at the Victoria Centre, fun at Nottingham Castle or a trip to the Theatre Royal with the kids. We have a varied kids menu (for the little Herd under 12), including vegan options, and we can cater for dietary requirements, including gluten-free and/or dairy-free.
We have high chairs and unisex baby changing facilities available and all of our facilities are on one level!

Well behaved dogs are welcome in Fat Hippo Nottingham’s outdoor dining area. The restaurant also has selected bar tables that are dog friendly (with managerial discretion). Please contact Fat Hippo Nottingham directly to ensure an appropriate table is available at your selected time.
