Fat Hippo Liverpool is based on Bold Street, home to an eclectic mix of Liverpool’s independent restaurants, cafes and quirky boutiques as well as the landmark St Luke’s bombed-out church.

As we’re based in the Ropewalks area in the heart of Liverpool city centre, the restaurant is only a two minutes’ walk from Liverpool Central train station and a 15 minutes’ walk from the city’s iconic waterfront and Royal Albert Dock.

We are only a short walk from any of Liverpool’s major city centre car parks, i.e. Parr Street and Mount Pleasant.

We do accept walk ins at Fat Hippo Liverpool but we recommend booking a table if you’d like to join us at specific time to avoid any disappointment, especially when the restaurant is busy.

Yes, Fat Hippo Liverpool is a child friendly restaurant! It’s the ideal pit stop after a shopping trip to Liverpool One or a busy day visiting the many child-friendly museums, exhibitions and galleries that Liverpool has to offer. We have a varied kids menu (for the little Herd under 12), including vegan options, and we can cater for dietary requirements, including gluten-free and/or dairy-free.

We have high chairs and unisex baby changing facilities available and all of our facilities are on ground level!

Well behaved dogs are welcome in Fat Hippo Liverpool’s outdoor dining area. The restaurant also has selected bar tables that are dog friendly (with managerial discretion). Please contact Fat Hippo Liverpool directly to ensure an appropriate table is available at your selected time.

Fat Hippo Liverpool does have free WiFi - just ask a member of staff for the password!

At Fat Hippo Liverpool, the chicken we use is certified halal but the beef is not. If you require any further information about our ingredients or cooking processes, please email our Executive Chef, Dickie on dickie@fathippo.co.uk.

We sure do! Fat Hippo Liverpool has a covered and heated outdoor seating area, smack bang outside the restaurant on Bold Street.

In Fat Hippo Liverpool, all of our facilities are located on the ground floor with disabled access. We would kindly ask that any bookings that require guaranteed ground floor seating to please contact us via phone/email when making the booking as our booking system operates random allocation.

We're afraid we don't currently offer any discounts at Fat Hippo Liverpool. We do have our Fast Hippo lunch deal and Hippo Hour evening deal running though. Have a read of the further details of these offers.

Sure thing! To collect/redeem Herd points at Fat Hippo Liverpool, please download our app to ‘Create an Account’. If you’re an existing Herd member who has yet to download the app, create a new account with the same email address then verify your account to transfer your existing points!

To collect points, use the app when dining in (just get your QR code scanned by your server) or placing a Click + Collect order. To redeem points, simply speak to your server before ordering when dining in!

You may only redeem one Herd reward per visit, and only one Herd account may collect the points from the table per visit. Please note Herd points can only be collected and redeemed in restaurants and not concessions.
